  • The stockings were hung on the chimney with care... The kids were so excited about decorating the house for Christmas, so we succomed to their wishes and set up the plastic odorless tree with the preinstalled lights to the sounds of Delilah on the radio. It does look beautiful when it is all complete and we will look back on it with fond memories, but tonight it just seemed all so rushed and crazy. The one peaceful nostalgic moment was when I showed Sammy the ornament we bought when we moved into our first house. It was an exciting time for us and have wonderful memories of our first Christmas on Temple street. It was just the two of us with our two little black kittens. Wow have times changed and we are now forming new things to look back on and dream about. Another highlight is the cheap bottle of wine called Red Heron I picked up from the St Julian winery. A nice sweet light red that goes down all too easy.

Take care and spend some time this holiday season thinking fondly of the memories and creating new ones...

    Back to Xanga

Not really getting much out of Facebook other than some addictive Jetman and sheep throwing which doesn't really make a whole lot of sense other than finding something else to waste my time.

Life in the Beuker household is a little stir crazy right now as the kids and Sammy are passing bugs around at eachother and I've been busy with the Deacon role and working. Tonight I've been blessed with a road trip to U of M Hospital. I think you can fit about 10 Butterworths in this place. Someone told me they have 10 miles of hallways. That's nuts! But at least you can stay in shape and not have to even leave the facility.

One other really cool thing. I've built a connection with a car ministry and was able to secure a 2002 Taurus for a wonderful person who hasn't even dreamed that she would own such a nice car. It was a shocking blessing that she really needed. It was amazing to see how God worked in this situation. Bringing around Thanksgiving baskets was also a wonderful opportunity to connect with old neighbors and friends.

And a really hilarious item: In this great housing market especially in the SE are of GR, the people who bought our old Temple house have relisted it for $10,000 more than they bought it for a year ago. They've done a little repainting and added some doors, but really haven't changed anything. They were broken into and didn't feel safe in the neighborhood so have left and are renting it out now. It's sad to see the house we loved go through being rented and sold again, but that is the way it goes.
